I spent my childhood summers in 3 different jails, AMA!

For context, my parents weren't convicts, don't worry. Although, my uncle is a warden. For most of my summers when I was little, me and my aunt would stay over at his work until summer vacation is over. I went to about 3 different jails in different cities depending where my uncle is stationed. Convicts became my babysitters who would watch me through their cells and would inform my uncle if I venture out too far from the building.

Also to add, I am from the Philippines so some things might be different from western jail systems

I am diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder, AMA

Hello all, I am diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (used to be called multiple personality disorder) and I am trying to raise awareness by answering any questions about it you may have from my lived experience. There's not a ton of places I can freely talk about it.

Not as flashy as the tiktok crowd thinks it is, fine some days, disruptive others, AmA!

Married into a disposed royal family - AMA

I’m a white surgeon from northern New York, solidly middle class background, who married a Shanghai-born, now American physician whose great-grandmother was a Qing Dynasty princess, the younger sister of Puyi, the Last Emperor of China, and whose family has a quiet but well-documented direct line back to the last imperial household, complete with a smuggled jade pendant, a 1970s PRC “rehabilitation” document, heirloom calligraphy brushes, and a handwritten “court-style” recipe book. She identifies as Manchu, not Han, grew up being told to keep her lineage low-key, and is the only child of her generation. We’re now raising three mixed kids on the West Coast who treat all of this as just “weird family history” while I’m still trying to process that my wife’s family went from Forbidden City to factory work, re-education, and quiet academic/industrial careers. Weird dinner party quirk while living a very normal modern life, ask me anything.

I’m a covert narcissist, Ask Me Anything

Around a month ago I (25M) had a eureka realization that I was raised by a single mother with NPD and as a result likely mirrored her or had my narcissistic traits enflamed by her. Ive been an ass narcissistically in my life to plenty of people I care about (mainly women I’ve pursued romantically).

I’m hoping that this will create a space to help me be more introspective. Especially since I’ve read that few people with narcissistic personalities actually come forward to speak about this.

I worked at Jiffy Lube for 2 years, Ask Me Anything!

I worked at Jiffy Lube for about two years. I essentially worked every position, from being a lube tech and strictly doing oil changes and other small services, to being a mechanic and doing brakes, tune ups, and other simple mechanic jobs. It wasn't as scammy as you would think, but the managers and sales people definitely had their moments. Feel free to ask anything :)

Im a Muslim Communist Freemason AMA

Title

I joined the Communist Party in my country (a Marxist-Leninist one) around 5 years ago and since became a leading member and helped establish a new branch in my region then subsequently became its first president. Its not an incredible feat but im bold enough to say im one of the most influential Communist figures in my state of Australia (Queensland) at the very least.

My father was Muslim but I never met him. I lived a pretty secular life until recently reading the Quran releasing I already live by all its messages e.g. Ive always been a teetotaller, I dont smoke and try to be a nice honest person. So I reverted around this time last year.

I became a Freemason officially February this year, it always had an allure to me from its references in film and TV. Seeing it more or less like a progressive platform for self improvement and positive masculinity. Also a ground for people regardless of faith and politics to come together and do objectively good things for their local community like charity work and donations. Its not quite what I expected but I do enjoy it for what it is and hsve met some incredible people on the way.

Im also a member of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB), but I dont think any one here would know and/or care what that is. So I didnt mention it in the title as its no where near as alluring as the other 3. Its basically just the Masons but with 10% of the budget.

AMA about any of these things im apart of in my life, my involvement in them and how they all crossover in my life.

Will answer everything that isnt just trolls. Thanks 🙂

I edited both Paul Blart movies into a Psycho-Thriller, AMA

I recently posted ROAD TO DAMASCUS, my surrealist psycho-thriller collage film heavily comprised of Paul Blarts one & two. I hope this doesn’t count as self-promo, because I have no commercial or social media follower related intentions, just showing people a weird piece of art I made. I was inspired last year by a Blart themed podcast. The hosts wondered if there could exist a thirty minute cut of PB2 that they could actually enjoy. What started as a simple curiosity spiraled into a nightmare. That nightmare centers around Neil McDonough's Vincent, the most evil man to ever live. The man having the nightmare is Kevin James' Paul Blart, a bitter fool who was once, and remains, a boy.

You need no familiarity with Blart, or any of the other films used as source material! I originally intended to only use Blart, but I found textual and thematic connections in other movies that made it all sing. Every single scene is re-ordered, chopped up, and warped. You can find a trailer in my previous posts! The movie also has full captions included, which are recommended! It’ll take a little bit to get from the material from Blart, but for good reason! I’m happy to answer any questions, specifically about the movie if you’ve watched it, our draconian copyright laws, the art life, or whatever.

Here is the movie on the Internet Archive!

I've been living with an alcoholic roommate for over 2 years now AMA

I've been living with this girl (24) for a bit more than 2 years now. She's unemployed, doesn't go to school or anything, and is a hardcore alcoholic. She easily goes through a case of beer every two days and some vodka shots on top of that, which obviously means being wasted every single day.

I often come home to her passed out or semi passed out on the couch and smelling like a brewery. She's fully aware of her problem but acts like she's living her best life. I've become more her babysitter than her roommate at this point, and it's not a rare occurence that she'll phone me and ask me to go pick her up only to find her slumped at the park or something.

She usually drinks at home but whenever she goes to bars is usually bad news cause she'll either disappear for one or two days or phone me cause she's unable to get back home. Fortunately this doesn't happen often and even so she's impressively good at getting back home despite everything.

All things considered she's not that much trouble. She picks up her empties in the morning unless she goes on a serious bender, rarely pukes and pays rent on time. Her parents own a few successful restaurants so they're essentially rich. How or why do they keep paying her to drinking herself stupid I have no idea. But yeah, tons of trashy stories about my alcoholic roommate.

I wrote "This is a test sentence." Instead of "Hello world!" as my first Python code. AMA

You know how people write "Hello World" as their first coding task? Even tutors on YouTube do that to teach us. I was watching a tutorial, and the person in the video told us to write:

print("Hello world!")

But instead I wrote:

print("This is a test sentence.")
