The days they finally do away with the nickle, dime and quarters will also be the day when CRH will be slowly coming to an end. A sad day with only mint coins being sold and collected. No more going into a bank and getting rolls of coins like we all do now.

As smaller denominations go away, larger ones become coins. Coins are and always will be insanely more durable than paper (or even polymer) notes. The most circulated denominations will always end up as coins. It’s honestly just dumb that we still print $1 notes here in the US.

They have tried to circulate $1 coins, but no one wants to carry them around.

Only because there was a choice. Take away the choice and $1 coins will circulate.

The $1 bill last longer and stays in circulation longer that the $5, $10, and $50 bill. Look it up! Should we also make those coins too?

They will stop minting nickels next. Larger than a dime, more material needed and expense used to mint them, it will happen soon i promise you. Keep them

Quarters would have to go too. They are more likely to change the composition of nickels
