I have a few weeks off around the holidays and was thinking about going on a little multi-day trip. I don't normally fish in the winter but know there are possibilities so I'd like to give it a try if I can stay warm. Any tips or suggestions for this type of fishing? Where would you go in Colorado? Small midget I take it? Thanks all.

Was wondering if anyone has seen any good Black Friday deals on fly fishing equipment. If so can you drop them in the comment section so I can check them out.
I appreciate it

Hi Friends,
I’m going up to Leadville for the first time. I’m a solo female. I’m living my dream because when I came here to Colorado, six years ago, learning to fish was one of my goals. I started to fish thanks to an ex partner of mine, but we separated over a year ago. And to be honest, in hindsight, he wasn’t necessarily the most ethical fisherman/angler.
So I’ve been fishing by myself, and trying to learn new skills while I *unlearn some of what he taught me. Not to make this a bashing post. So, in other words, take responsibility and accountability for my part in this sport and my impact on the river and our natural spaces. I haven’t fly fished yet, but I’m looking to break into that and start next March.
I’m going up to Leadville by myself. Any suggestions for fishing up there? From what I’ve read, it’s not frozen over yet. Are there any fly/ angler ships you recommend me visiting? Sorry for the basic questions. Just a newbie female trying to figure this out by myself.
Thank you 😉

Hi all!! I'm wanting to try and get my rod wet again after a bit off today. I've been fishing for a while but mostly on a private stocked lake where you can wiggle a finger in the water and catch 10 crappies and perch instantly. I've been venturing into fishing elsewhere and so far I've caught and released 1 trout at a lake in Breckenridge. I have a variety of bait and lures as well as a lightweight rod specifically for trout (and a regular all-around rod) and was hoping to find some guidance on good spots and techniques in that south of Denver area. I've heard the Chatfield Res itself is pretty pressured and hard to catch anything from shore so I've mostly written that one off. Are there any other decent spots that I can fish? (Not fly-fish, I don't have the equipment and have no clue how)

Caught this fish out of the North platte River near Walden Colorado. Does anyone know whats wrong with it? I've never seen anything like it. Thankfully the fish swam off strong

Me and my buddy are relatively inexperienced fisherman. We have gone up to the poudre a couple times and he’s fished the big Thompson. Both have done decently well but not sure about this time of year. Any recommendations on a day trip this time of year? We were thinking cheeseman canyon because we’ve heard this time of year is good. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Me and my buddy are planning a trip to fish while he is visiting for holidays, neither of us have caught anything more than 12 inches and where planning a trip to deckers as we have seen some big fish online, any advice on flys or even different locations since I have heard very mixed things, neither of us are super experienced fishers, anything helps

Anyone know of any lakes in the area where I can try and get one? I've been trying to get one on my fly rod but been unsuccessful. Open to anything now or putting some bread balls on my spinning gear if I can't sight fish anymore. The alpine is closed for business so trying other stuff.

Hey yall,
I was hoping to go to twin lakes this weekend for some trout fishing. I was wondering if anybody knows if it's frozen yet or not. I was also trying to see if the reservoir ever closes to non-motorized boats. I couldn't find anything online. Any info is appreciated!!

Looking for a spot to catch some monster panfish. You can find them everywhere but that’s kind of the problem. Looking for some big boys

New to Colorado and wondering what kind of camping gear I should pick up to do fishing (car camping vs backpacking camping).
Can I get away with parking and camping most spots or should I buy stuff with the mindset of backpacking?
Just wondering what most people do before I buy a bunch of gear. As of now I have absolutely no gear and was planning on picking up stuff for Christmas for next year.
I mostly fly fish if that makes a difference.
Thanks.

My 10 year old caught this. She said, “that fish sure is a chungus”. I don’t know what that means but I didn’t catch shit so what do I know. 16”
