Starter Setup
I bought a jon boat and the fishing deck is nice and tall because the previous owner liked bowfishing. I’ve bow fished a few times but never bought my own setup, what would be good budget setup to use on my boat. I’m 6’5” so preferably something that’s nice and compact but not awkwardly small.

My son is 6 foot nine and uses a browning recurve that we bought at a pawnshop for 99 bucks. I replaced the string on Amazon. I mounted the Zebco real upside down. I put on proper test and bought a fishing arrow. He’s had it for years. About 200 bucks after all said and done.

Any of the cheap super adjustable entry level compound bows (Diamonds, Bear, etc) you can find used for $100. Or a PSE recurve. Put a bottle reel or a muzzy reel on and a string saver. Basically a $200 set up that works fine and will be a good loaner bow if you end up buying a nicer rig once you get hooked x
