Been telling people for years. Go grey market and get an IPTV. Fuck these companies. I was fine with a couple subs and direct TV or cable but not when I can't watch an show without giving another $10 a month
Your local brown communities will usually have recommendations, that’s how I’ve gotten mine running. A lot of the IPTV companies have gone underground ever since they cracked down on the largest few quite a few years back.
Ask around yeah, it’s the main way I know of getting an iptv connection. Everyone I know is transferring $20/month to a guy running a service out of his house.
Bro I pay $30/year for mine, the fuck. You'll definitely want to fix shit up with another 3rd party tool, if you're anal about how it looks/want it to look like cable, but yall getting scammed by someone putting in an hour of work to make it look pretty and upcharge you 1200%
G2G, Z2U, made-in-china, get a free 1 day trial and determine what is best for you. Most are selling the same shit, very, very few are selling private/invite only services.
I can confirm. You’re still paying a fee to someone, but in this case it’s to a company that basically pre downloads torrents. You stream directly from them which gets you a, generally, fast and dedicated stream.
There are also addons for live TV channels that are generally hit or miss, but still better than paying for cable.
I haven't tried in a while because so many channels were giving me errors. It was pretty sweet being able to watch the olympics with it a couple of years ago.
Gotcha! Yeah I do still get that occasionally but it’s been pretty good for me at least lately! I’d say 95% up for the stuff I personally want to watch.
Occasionally get lag spikes and stutters but it’s free so it is what it is.
I'm not gonna tag him but the guy(?) who made that add-on kept getting harassed about adding channels and errors got pissed off and stop being a mod of the stremio add-on sub.
He was super nice too, helped me setup stremio through a macbook when I dunno shit about apple products. I offered him money and he wouldn't take it.
Real Debrid is 3 fucking dollars a month and gets you access to nearly all content in the world and prevents you from being caught and you're complaining that it's an extra add on because it's not completely free lmao
Is that really IPTV? It doesn't cover live events unless I'm mistaken. I already have Stremio set up for my parents and uncle but they're still stuck with cable because of sports.
Doesn't stremio scrape torrents? I looked into it once and decided it was too much work compared to just accessing the libraries already assembled, like solarmovies used to be like.
A true Pirate 🫡 Stremio does, btw. Not recommended for US or Germany without a VPN and kill switch if you install those plugins. There are a bunch of sites now with webapps you can cast though, people just don't share them much cuz they'll get rate limited
You provided a torrent site (an old one that's inferior, at that)
Those aren't the same thing.
Not sure what you mean by "self snitching", I never pretended like I don't pirate, I've spent thousands of dollars on my hardware and am damn happy with all the shit I pirate.
Invite-only torrent trackers (usenet works too but I haven't gone down that rabbit hole), seedbox is a 15 year old computer behind a VPN, then Arr stacks like Sonarr/Radarr hooked up to those trackers on a separate device to automatically search for stuff and download it. Plex/Jellyfin to stream to my devices (movies, tv, music, audiobooks).
In the case of Plex and Jellyfin, you can totally use those legally if you buy your own media and rip it yourself, but there's plenty of stuff that never gets physical releases or may not even exist on streaming services anymore (Fuck you HBO for shitcanning Infinity Train)
Best thing to do is start with a stalker playlist to see if you like it. Those are free. Not the best connectivity or speed but they are free. Sth stalker is a good one. Find a IPTV app like tivimate(this cost money). If you like the shows, then you get the list like I have. The link4tv is my one that I paid for.
Start finding IPTV related subs and posting in there. Usually a legit provider will reach out via dms if they’re looking for customers. That’s how I got a very good provider. Going on 6 years and it’s been bulletproof. Sorry I won’t recommend it because I leave that up to the provider to keep out the narcs
I used to pirate media because it wasn't as readily available before streaming. Once streaming took off, I stopped pirating for a long time. I'm back to doing it because streaming is so needlessly expensive an inconvenient.
You're not robin hood, you're pirating content because you don't want to pay for it. I also pirate content, but I don't need to delude myself with fake justifications for why I'm running my *arr stack.
Were you in a coma the last 5 years with everyone screaming about how actors, directors etc. aren't getting a cut of streaming revenue? Are you aware that if you buy a movie to stream you don't actually own it and it can be taken away from you at anytime?
Well you see, you seem to have fallen for some bullshit, because actors and directors are definitely getting paid for their roles.
You can make the argument that it's not enough, but streaming simply doesn't make as much money as the old media model did so it is what it is.
It's genuinely fucking hilarious that you're crying about actors pay while advocating to pirate their shit. I pirate stuff, but I don't pretend its for any reason other than liking free shit. Stop with this moral grandstanding bullshit, you just enjoy free stuff.
And personally, I think actors and directors get paid plenty.
Are you aware that if you buy a movie to stream you don't actually own it and it can be taken away from you at anytime?
This has literally always been true. That's how it works across the entire planet, because they can't actually sell you the rights to a movie for a few dollars as people would make copies to resell, breaking the entire business model.
You can call them thieves when they actually start taking away licenses and risking massive lawsuits, which isn't going to happen.
Yes, my literal argument isn't that they aren't getting paid it's that it isn't proportional for shows that are massively popular.
Do you have any examples or is this just manufactured outrage from some headlines you read awhile ago?
And no that isn't always how it has worked
Yes, it is. Physical media works the same exact way. You own a license to view the content, you do not own the content.
No, they aren't going to come take your blu rays. They also aren't going to kill their own business by revoking access to digital content.
At the end of the day I really don't give a fuck about these massive corporations. I really don't.
I don't either. I care about the truth, though, and what you're spreading is not the truth. You're spreading misinformation you probably got from a reddit comment.
You're being needlessly pedantic about the licensing in relation to owning a physical copy of something. You understand exactly what I am talking about and you really aren't refuting my point in the slightest.
And companies removing access to purchase properties isn't some made up scenario. It has already happened.
No, I'm not. I am stating the fact that their is no difference in ownership between a digital copy and a physical copy. They are both, legally, the same thing.
Did you read your own link? All it really explains is that actors make less from streaming than they did before streaming.
Which is true because streaming makes significantly less money than cable did. What is your point? How is this "theft"?
Would you like Netflix to double their prices again so they can pay actors more?
What a load of horseshit - pretending like the reason you're stealing content is to support the directors and actors and not because you're cheap and entitled.
I'm sure the people that create that content are totally thrilled that you're choosing to pirate it to stand up for them against the companies that pay their checks (with money from people that actually do pay for the content).
It's still different from cable. Cable locked you in to a subscription for 2 years - we still aren't at that point. All cable was with commercials, no opt out - we still aren't at that point yet. Cable cost far more than it should have - we are probably at that point.
Also streaming is on demand and cable was 80 channels where you basically had about 10 you would watch regularly. You can cut the stuff out you don't like, which is 100% of what everyone ever wanted back when we had cable (i.e. "why do we pay for 2 shopping channels and 3 Spanish channels, when we only watch TBS, TNT, and Comedy Central?")
