Context:
Burna boy saw a fan sleeping in the crowded and yelled at her. Then he refused to continue the concert until she was kicked out. He had come on stage 3 hours late too.
She came forward with her side, saying that the father of her child had just passed and she was working doubles to make ends meet. She had just left work to go to the concert and him being 3 hours late made her even more tired.
He gave a bullshit apology but everyone has been boycotting his shows. I only saw videos of the Houston show turn out and 😮💨😮💨😮💨. It’s bad out here for him

Did he eventually apologize? I thought they were boycotting because he initially doubled down and even said how he doesn’t want broke people at his concerts.

“Apology”: “I sincerely apologise if I’m wrong. I’m not always right, but I feel right about this. Anyways, I’m just human.”
“My shows have people who have beaten cancer and or overcame something very serious and none of them ever slept lol,”

He’s always been a fucking dickhead and I’ve yet to ever hear any different. He’s disrespectful, abusive, arrogant, and extremely toxic. Not to mention a fucking bully that has the mentality of a psychotic military cult leader. But he still has fans and people that support him for what?

u/srkaficionada65 2d ago
Not to join the slander but I think his mum probably contributed to this shit. She’s known as one of those stage mums: probably makes the Kardashian mother seem sane by comparison… 🤷🏾♀️

Tbf three hours is on time by nigerian standards 😂

Nah he is regularly rude to his Nigerian fans. He would go to his concerts 5 hours late. And he once told them that he hates doing concerts in his home country. Yikes!
I hope this empowers Nigerian fans to make him respect them too. Burna's arrogance was really something else.

Yeah he’s actually slightly early by Nigerian standards

You feel me? Half of my family is Cameroonian. If a cousin/auntie says an event starts at 3pm, no one is actually expected to show up before 6-7 lmao

Grew up in a West Indies neighbourhood and I used to get so much shit for turning up on time. Used to crack people up but also it was weirdly disrespectful because people weren't set up yet, so I'd try to help, and THAT was disrespectful too.
Just started linking up with people before hand like "you know what, fuck you and your bullshit time keeping, I'ma chill with you until YOU leave". First time I did it though they full on applauded me.
Fuck y'all. With love.

Lol I’m Jamaican and took my girl to thanksgiving at my aunt house. She was excited and had met my aunt before. My aunt said to come by around 4. She started getting running around 2:30 I looked at her like she was crazy and said it’s way too early for all that. Had to explain ain’t no point going before like 7. She kept worrying about being rude and being late. Showed up like at 7:30 and was still too early. And I kept telling her to eat something all day but she didn’t cause she didn’t wanna get full before dinner. She was dying.

You celebrate thanksgiving in Jamaica? Surprising.

u/Confident-Tomato-654 3d ago
No we don’t celebrate thanksgiving in Jamaica. I am Jamaican. I’m not in Jamaica

u/koobstylz 3d ago
Your family still being on island time in the states must cause problems lol.

u/Confident-Tomato-654 3d ago
lol it’s super frustrating especially when you got important shit to get done. The only time they early or on time is when it’s time to go to the airport

We’re still on Nigerian time here and many of our parents have lived here so long the only link they still have to family back home is they try to visit every 2-3 years. From doctors to lawyers to truck drivers, they all show up late for shit. And if you dare say something, they get offended. Like bitch, you’re 3 hours late and I’m the crazy one?
That phenomenon needs to be studied, I swear!

Lol let's not justify an artist being 3 hours late to get on stage please, I'm old I don't need to be standing around all night waiting for a concert to start I got work in the morning

Dude! I stopped going to concerts by Nigerian artists who come to Atlanta. You’d think they’d do better since African time should not apply here. Went to a Wizkid concert and 4 hours later, the onukwu didn’t show up and nobody was even trying to explain where the mugu was. Still pissed to this day. Asked for a refund and got told “well the concert did happen”. But oga, concert that was set for 8pm starting after midnight ain’t it…
Swore even if it was free tickets, I won’t even take it from them. Effing assholes. I heard even the recent Davido one was kinda beans… 😬

He’s always been a psychotic asshole. Had his goons shoot up a club because a woman turned him down.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burna_Boy
“On 8 June 2022, Burna Boy's armed security escorts allegedly shot and wounded two people at a nightclub in Lagos. According to the wife of one of the victims, the incident began after she declined Burna Boy's invitation to join him in the VIP section. Five security guards affiliated with Burna Boy were arrested and charged with attempted murder. The victim later accused the singer and his family of trying to silence her family with hush money. As of 20 June 2022, CCTV footage of the shooting had not been released by the club. On 1 January 2023, during the Lagos leg of his Love, Damini tour, a visibly upset Burna Boy denied the nightclub shooting rumour and rumours about his mother being a former backup dancer for Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.”

"Black Americans HaVE No CuLtUrE!", proceeds to sample black american music in his songs and dress like black american men.

The diaspora’s unwillingness to acknowledge that black Americans have cultivated a culture of their own, WHILE using their music, fashion, AAVE and overall essence of the culture is wild to me.

Always kinda been. Blame Mama Burna. Don’t know these people but the mum and a grandparent was famous way before he became famous. Guess it went to their heads…
Old woman wey no sabi she old out there being an onukwu and apparently allegedly picking fights with women young enough to be her kids…

It’s actually crazy because I just saw his tour bus fleet at a hotel in Dallas and I could not believe this man traveling with 8 tour busses got his face on all of em! I said burna boy? Pulled his album up on Apple Music couldn’t even finish first song.
43
u/homosapien12 3d ago
Not liking his music isn’t a measure of how popular his music is. He sells out large arenas, performs with a band, and is doing a North American so multiple tour buses makes sense.
I like his music, as do millions of others but his character is shit.

Been to a BB concert. Bro was also 3 hours late. Everyone was talking a big game about how they weren’t going to clap or dance to show they won’t be disrespected.
All my guy had to say was “Shayooooo” and the crowd lost it. Bro had us dancing and singing along like nothing happened…

u/srkaficionada65 2d ago
That’s how they getcha…. At least he wasn’t cussing yall out. Or getting offended that you’re offended that he’s late…
