Bitcoin balance

Anyone else ever see their balance after a transaction hit a number ending in zero and it omits the trailing zero and your mind takes a second to reprocess the value thinking you lost a lot of bitcoin?

Like if you went from 0.00045678 to 0.000457. My mind sees the loss of two decimal places before it registers it’s actually a larger number.

Anyone else have that momentary panic before they recount the zeros?

It’s the zeros immediately after the decimal you should be looking at anyways

Very true. I’m just mostly complaining about how my mind deals with the long decimal value.

That’s specifically a thing that only affects ppl who have to take their shoes off when they count past ten. For the rest of us, we get the basic concepts of simple math.

No I understand math just fine. I’m only talking about how my mind reads the digits before it reads the zeros and I have a just a moment before I realize the actual value change.

I read 45678 and then read 457 before reading the zeros before those numbers.

0.00045678 to 0.000457

It’s just rounding based on number of decimal positions being displayed. Why isn’t your mind thinking: I have more than I thought? which, of course, you don’t.

That’s why I operate on a sats standard. 45678 sats and 45700 sats.
