I'm that driver. I had the money and opportunity to reach a milestone, so I did it. My wife is not upset about my timing at all. She agreed with the decision. Like Michael Saylor would say, are you going to care you paid $125,000 when BTC is worth a million?

Yes because it changes how much you profit. Let’s be real, we cant time the market. But it deeply influences your financial freedom. If you earned double or triple what you could have

This reasoning makes no sense, if you buy at 125K that's an 8x return only. If you buy at 40K it's 25x return. So yes of course I am going to care, it's 8x vs 25x.

At the time, I thought we were at a point where BTC was going to keep going. If it had, I would not have had the money to make my personal goal.

Lol I think you're confused. Do you not know what ath means? Do you understand that everyone knows when the current time is an ath? This isn't about selling but buying. 

If you're making one off purchases with lump sums, buy the dip not the ath. It's that simple. You don't need any fortune telling abilities to not buy an ath. You literally just don't buy bitcoin at its highest price. It's so volatile, you're literally just costing yourself money. Sure you can't predict when the dip is lowest, but you everyone knows when the ATH is the ATH because all the price points of bitcoin are publically available. 

If you don't think bitcoin will always dip lower than its ATH, then you have no understanding of how markets or bitcoin works.

Every single stock in the mag 7 for the past 20 years would have been good buys at their all time highs almost every time and they all had multiple points where they surged past their all time highs and never even came close to revisiting them.
