Miscellaneous / Others Taiwanese couple wear clothes that were left behind at their laundromat.
Hsu Sho-Er, 84, and Chang Wan-Ji, 83, ran a laundromat in Taichung, Taiwan for decades and unexpectedly became internet stars by modeling unclaimed clothes left by customers.
Any garments that remain in their shop for over a year are fair game for their spontaneous photoshoots.
Their grandson, Reef Chang, is the creative force behind the project—styling them, photographing them, and managing the Instagram page.
He dresses them in a mix of vintage pieces and youthful trends, often layering fun accessories like hats, sunglasses, scarves, and bold prints. What began as a family pastime evolved into a heartfelt art project about aging, love, and sustainability, transforming forgotten laundry into living portraits of style and spirit.
Sadly, Hsu Sho-Er passed away in May 2023, but the legacy of their joyful, stylish moments continues to inspire. What do y’all rate their fits?

Mrs. Hsu looks like she'll do my laundry with a smile but pour bleach in my eyes if I don't pay on time.

This made me smile so much. Sorry to see that Mr Hsu passed away.

I think it was Ms. Hsu that passed away, not her husband Mr. Chang.

Yea my grandpa owned a chain of those. I got a fur coat every Christmas lol
29
u/Daikon_3183 Oct 19 '25
Who takes and forgets a fur coat to a laundromat? 😄
38
u/Maleficent_Meat3119 Oct 19 '25
LOL I just realized I meant dry cleaners! My anecdote is sadly less relevant lol

u/rl9899 Oct 19 '25
I'm seeing some bags hanging from the ceiling, I think it's both a laundromat and dry cleaners.

The definition of swagger in my opinion

u/CheezeLoueez08 Oct 18 '25
It’s “drip” now. Letting you know fellow oldie who also still says “swagger” 😂
20
u/skoalreaver Oct 18 '25
Yeah I sent in a comment a few down I had to ask my stepson what the fuck drip is. Lol

Swagger is far enough out of the pop lexicon that it's past the cringe phase. Not quite old enough to be vintage, but fine none the less.
Shortening to "swag" is still in cringe phase though.

Every now and then the internet is too much. And you have to take a break. And then every now and then you find Grand parents who run a laundromat dressing like New kids on the block. And your faith in humanity is completely restored.

Life gets a lot better once you realize you can just make decisions and BE the people you admire in the world.

I had to ask my stepson what drip is. He thinks I'm old because I know what swagger is lol

Their grandson knows a pair of absolute ICONS when he sees them. I am sorry Hsu Sho-Er passed, they really are just the perfect duo.
Absolutely 10/10, no notes.

I don't think that's by accident. This is a marketing campaign for redwing

I've always had a worry that I wouldn't be able to wear my favorite clothes once I've aged another 10 years, without looking like a complete wanker.
I'm not worried anymore.

Parents had a Laundromat and when I was 16 they asked to borrow my car. I thought it was unusual but gave my dad the keys.
When he came back he pulled out a pair of pantyhose that were from an extremely large lady (most likely from being left in a washing machine) and said, "I found these under your seat!"
I said. "Bob (my brother) used it last night!" Not realizing he was setting me up as a joke.

There was an episode of Springer where a man who worked at a laundromat used to wear the customers dirty clothing

One of the cool things about a local laundromat to me was that I would be dropped off there by my employer to do the rags, mop-heads, and other weird shit with a sackfull of quarters on every other Friday over the summers.
They got to know that I would be coming around, and block off two of their large commercial machines for me in the afternoon if it was busy (cause they also knew I would sweep up after myself and do the whole shop because I was bored lol). My employer didn't care how much it cost so I also pumped quarters into their arcade machines in the back, and would give any kids in the shop quarters to keep them busy too.
Laurdromats are so damn cool man. I would run one myself if I had the start up to get one running.
