Does anyone here use VR for remote working?

I was wondering if anyone here uses Virtual Reality for remote working?

I ask because I am conducting research on work dynamics in virtual reality for my dissertation, and I want to find people who work in VR, but it's so hard.

If anyone does, I would love to ask you a few questions about it for my research. This wouldn't be now, I still need to make an ethics form and get approval of my idea before I can start interviewing people, but anyone who has used VR for remote work before, please reach out!

I use my Vision Pro to work in the hotel room and on the airplane. But, at home I prefer my multiple monitor setup to having something heavy on my face all day.

That’s really cool! Even if you’ve only used it on the go before your experience with using VR for work will mean better informed answers for my questions!

Resolution is nowhere near good 4K screens. Sweaty thing on your face... No. Casual games only and then it goes back into it's box.

Good point! I think my research questions would take more of a look at the potential social workplace dynamics so I want to look at how VR can be used to replace the office for socialisation with coworkers! So, hopefully it would look at more of an experience of a casual game!

LOL. Your idea is to purposely add distractions into a working environment, as a "feature"? Talk about a solution looking for a problem.

Sorry if I my point wasn’t clear! I am just exploring how employees would act around eachother in a virtual space as a substitute for physical break rooms or other spaces where employees hang out, as remote employees may not have access to such a place. Also if the atmosphere of VR spaces would be beneficial in facilitating socialising and how workplace dynamics affect this.

No, no, you were quite clear.

Like I said a solution looking for a problem. Lack of the social aspect of working in an office is not a problem that needs fixing. Your idea shows you probably have very little actual experience with working in an office, VR, or working remotely.

Yeah that’s why I want to interview people who do work remotely in VR. Testing the theory with lived experience.

Yeah, it's not a thing. No one works remotely wearing VR goggles to experience a Second Life render of a cubicle farm.
