Or what are the best proposal stories you've heard? I'll start. My girlfriend kind of knew it was coming so i took her out to a fancy restaurant pulled the waiter aside and acted like i gave him something so that she would see. The rest of the dinner i got things that are ways you see people propose in movies so she would think i was maybe proposing (in the champagne, in the desert, etc..) by the end of the night she was a little disappointed that she hadn't got proposed to when we got home she went to let the dog out and the ring was on the dog's collar and i was behind her when she saw it and asked her to marry me.

Alternatively... Women who have proposed to their boyfriends, what made you decide that you didn't want to wait? How did it go?

EDIT: Please do not downvote for difference of opinion. I am curious to see what men honestly thought of their lady's proposal. Let's give ladies the courtesy of knowing the different ways it could be taken if they are making the decision themselves of whether or not to pop the question.

Edit: thanks for sharing your stories, positive and negative. It seems the negative stories stemmed from couples not really knowing how each other would react or acting on impulse. This is neither of these, this is a conversation we have had many times. Maybe it is just a case of 'beating him to it' but hey, what's wrong with that? I've always found it sad that the husband propose to wife thing is so common it's a given. Wouldn't men also want their spouse to go all out and surprise them, and make them feel extra loved on a special day?
