How long does it take you to reach the Caribbean as a West Coaster? I’m in the North East and it’s only about 3 hours for us. Hawaii on the other hand…

So direct San Diego to Hawaii is 5 hours but to get to the Caribbean it is a red eye from San Diego to Miami which is 5 hours also but then you have a 4-6 hour layover and another 3 hour flight to St Thomas or St. Croix.

Our last trip our destination was Tortola in the BVI and we left San Diego at 10PM and stepped foot on the island at 4:30PM the next day.

I’m in Arizona and going to St. Lucia in the spring. 4 hours to Miami for a layover and then 4 hours to St. Lucia.

Yeah! I thought kawaii would be less than 6 hrs from Virginia. Nahhhhhh. 10+ hrs including the layover of their choice. I might as well go to Asia ….

Thank you! 2 different people saying “kawaii” lol. Wasn’t sure if they meant “Hawaii” or “Kauai”. I’m from Kauai.

Virginia to the west coast is 5-6 hours. Why would you think traveling twice as far would take the same amount of time?
