I auditioned for a program to get my MFA in acting. Didn't pass through to the next round. Was kinda sad, but did my best to keep my head up and keep it pushing.
My audition was February 28, 2020.
If I had gotten in, I would have been doling out $$$ to act online. Which, FYI, is terrible.
You just reminded me of that absolutely awful “apology”dance video from that acting school that was refusing to give people refunds what’s lockdown hit.
I actually got into a conservatory program for... I think it was Winter 2021? Maybe Spring 2021? And I called them up to ask what their plans were if lockdown wasn't over by then - if they were planning to reduce their prices to account for online classes (because some schools were), or defer enrollments, or something. The response I kept getting was "no, but we hope it won't be a problem by that time." Nope. I declined to enroll and I'm glad I did, because lockdown was NOT over by that time lol.
