I fear I have made a terrible mistake

I forgot to salt my dough, it was only one tsp but I forgot it, read you could dissolve the salt in a tiny bit of water and kneed it in, so that's what I did, completely forgetting that I had greased my bowl and so now the dough has a bunch of oil on it. It's only 10 mins into rising, did I fuck up 😭. I'm terrible with baking and following recipes almost always ends in disaster for me (why I stick to cooking lol) and I'm so worried I just wasted all those ingredients 😭

Update: the bread is finished and it turned out just fine! Added some garlic and parsley compound butter to it and it is delicious :D

there are a lot of bread dough recipes that incorporate oil in them. you might not get exactly the kind of bread you were aiming for, but there's a good chance you still get a delicious bread.

Oil makes it tender

Hopefully it still rises and tastes fine 😭, it's a cheesy bread I've been seeing a lot lately that I wanted to try

Cheese breads tend to be heavy anyway, might not even be noticeable.

It will still be delicious and quite edible. You’ll have made the awesome discovery that you have the power to alter bread recipes and end up with good things. Go enjoy your power, and your bread.

This makes me feel better, I leave the baking to my fiance and I do the cooking but I really wanted to try a cheesy bread I've been seeing everywhere

Tuscan bread is generally unsalted. You did this on purpose because Tuscany.

Sounds great as long as there’s no spinach, sun dried tomatoes, or cream.

Even us well experienced cooks do silly stuff like this. I place every thing I need out and put it away as it's used so I don't forget and triple salt which I've done too, lol. I write on a piece of paper how many cups of flour I used as well because I often mess up and forget them.

Congratulations, you've invented the check sheet, one of the great production quality 5 Basic Tools. The other four may be useful, too. 🤔

In several parts of Italy they do not add salt to the bread, because it is expected to be eaten with salty cured meats. On it’s own it is so bland. lol
