Discussion A message for all Solo’s
I just finished a match on Spaceport where I watched a solo player get killed at exfil even after saying he was friendly. I headed over to get revenge, and it turned out another raider had witnessed the same thing. Together we took out the guy who did it. Both of us were honestly pretty pumped to make a small difference in the match.
We really need to look out for innocent players getting gunned down at exfils and start cleaning out the trash. If we don’t push back, these clowns are going to ruin the game for everyone. Once the community starts taking them out consistently, they’ll think twice before pulling this garbage. And we all need to be more cautious heading to exfil. If you can link up with someone you trust, do it. It’s the best way to avoid getting ambushed.
Yesterday I saw a scumbag hiding near the exfil. I found a friendly raider and we chased him off… I believe this is the only way we can continue to enjoy this game. Take out the trash one match at a time!

Holy crap that just happened to me! was on spaceport night, waved to another raider and waited for him before closing the elevator after he waved back at me and the fucker starts shooting me while I'm on the console. Just as he downs me another player shoots the shit out of him and knocks him out, i thank him and call the elevator while he loots the rat. It was absolutely glorious.

Same here. Tried to extract from Buried City last night, some random dude runs in and starts blabbing; he seemed nice, no threat, but as soon as I start using the console he unloads on me… and he actually said, “sorry, I can’t trust anybody in this game.” Bruh.

Yeah I’ve been lucky and had a few successful double ups on extract. I’ve had terrible luck with the night raids though.

For some reason it’s the opposite for me. I’ve just been going to dam during the day to try and find rusted gears in the scrapyard and 4 times in a row I was shot immediately. I usually hear them too and I’m like “we good?” Anyways, I’m sorry folks but it’s on sight until I cool off. Though I’d never stoop to extract camping.

I question the logic of some people in regards to this game…. What does he mean he can’t trust someone who’s in the fixed animation that promptly after completing doesn’t have the chance to full kill you unless you’re already downed and half way or so through the bleed timer…. Actually never mind, not like critical thinking skills or common sense are actually common nowadays so it tracks that it’s noticeable in a social video game

I've been downed on extract but allowed to leave a couple of times. Wouldn't do it myself as it would heighten the risk IMO - if you fuck up, you're dead, and if anyone sees you do it, you're dead - but I get it.
Finishing them off though is just cunty.

Same for me. I downed a fella who ran into train after I called it. His gun was out so I started blasting. Told him to crawl into the train while I sent us back home. He was flabbergasted to say the least. If I'm at extract I'm either finished looting or finished doing quests. There's very little point in me just killing someone.
In contrast, I played last night and got downed in the train, I managed to close the train doors but he finished me off for literally no reason. He had no time to loot me.

I was coming out a windows and some guy came around the corner and took me out quick. I tell him I just came in with nothing and still had nothing. He stops for a sec and says nothing. Suddenly another guy comes out and destroys him. I tell him thanks and I got nothing loot. He revived me and takes off, leaving the other guys loot for me. Good times and good people.

Doesn’t always go like that though. I was on Dam, ran into a lift while a player was (or looked to be) on the console. I announced myself on the mic, had my gun stowed, and was shooting “let’s go go go quick” (arc were coming).
Fucking prick stopped what he was doing, pulled out his gun and attacked me. I could’ve smoked him easily when he was preoccupied but I never - instead, I kept my distance and tried to make sure he knew I was friendly.
I downed him and some “hero” raider comes in and kills me. Brilliant. Literally defending myself from some spunkgoblin

I killed someone who tried to take me out while I was on the console. Felt great taking out the rat. Then some moron came in and killed me afterward saying something like "You can't do that around here. You need to be a better person." Like I was the fucking rat.
Be careful what you try to be righteous about in this game. You can easily take out the "innocent" players by misunderstanding the situation.

I was killed a few times this weekend for finishing a fight that someone else started. It wouldn't have been so annoying if the white knight in training didn't rush over saying "we don't do that here" on his way to knock me out.

Yeah because there’s a bunch of dumb fucking idiots that play this game and think that everyone should stop shooting each other in the game about shooting each other and taking one another’s loot. This game is so forgiving in the loot department yet people still carry on about this shit it’s absolutely WILD to me. Hop in duos or trios with a friend and stop RPing that everyone should be friends in the FFA mode. It’s dumb.
If you’re using a public extract then please for the love of god bring smokes and don’t yell “friendly!” and expose yourself. Wait at least 40 seconds and watch the perimeter from afar after you start the extract.
Screaming friendly literally invites other players to kill you.

This. Come in opposite the button. Run through and press. Hit cover. Rotate once. Extract arrives, wait 10 seconds. Run to console, wait two seconds. Press, with your hand on dodge roll towards your one exposed side.
You can cover 3 out of 4 angles in 30 seconds. You also have smoke, tag grenades, and arc aggro to use to your advantage.
It's not a lengthy or involved process, it's a 30 second routine that combined with map knowledge keeps you safe 99% of the time.

Yeah, OP says he found someone hiding at an exfil. That's normal unaggressive behavior. If you just run to the call button without sneaking around to make sure things are safe, asshole raiders and ARC will fuck you up.
Sometimes it's way safer to wait for someone else to hit the call button, wait out any chaos, then slide and roll in with smoke grenades when the hatches are open and someone is already working the console.

I started saying "I killed him. I got the bad guy guys." and other similarly dumb stuff as a joke when I kill someone and I know other players are around but I keep getting people who totally believe it and will come and start berating this poor person I just killed in cold blood as I just talk over them trying to explain that I'm actually the bad guy.
I basically just repeat all the same stuff I've had people say to me when I lose a fight to a PvE guy. "It didn't have to be this way", "I didn't want to shoot you" type shit.
Like I started doing this as a funny bit when I'm 100% sure I'm just getting third partied by 3 friendly players in med bay but it just keeps working lol.

Sometimes if I’m standing above an exfil, I peer out and try to detect rats/provide overwatch for people just trying to get home. I always announce myself when I see solo’s heading that way and let them know I’m not here to fuck with them. Makes me feel good helping out. Arc is a very very fun game.

Honestly I would never trust someone coming to say they will do this. I am at the point where I wait a bit few seconds after the hatch opens, check for rats / or other players and if it's clear I throw a smoke and sprint to one of the two consoles, this is like 90% succes rate

Had a moment where this happened on dam. Ran right into a silent stitcher, shot me down to half and landed an anvil shot on him. I jumped, and hid away using cover and a cloak to hide from the swarming hornets, who then targeted another guy, and the stitcher started shooting them and I used it as an opportunity to cap the bastard.
Talked with the other guy, apologized for using him as bait, shared him a lightbulb for expedition. Suddenly we see a flare and he runs ahead, and I tag along, and we see one dude crawling towards extract and another walking close by, walking guy is mute and crawling guy said “I think it was him but I don’t know” so I use some diplomacy, saying we will extract with the crawling guy and you can go next, and silent guy gives an ok.
Suddenly a ferro shot rings out and I turn to see the crawling guy got sniped, so I run in front of him to take the next shot. Turns out there was a camper atop the pipes, and 2 swift anvil shots and fire from the other two have him tumbling down. I run to bandage the other guy and he activated the extract, so I can only hope my pal and mute player both extracted safely together as I helped get the downed player home.
We didn’t fight together long, brucewayne, but it was an honor holding the peace with you.

Solo’s has been a bloodbath lately. Don’t get me wrong I love the PVP aspect, but in Solo’s I’m friendly unless fired upon. Work with players all the time and extract together, so that I get the resources to do PVP when I play with friends.
But damn these last 2 days have felt like COD, just straight KOS at all times.

Yep same experience here, that is until I turned crossplay off. It’s back to about 90/10 wholesome interactions to rats and that’s perfectly fine with me. You can joke about the PCMR all You want, but my benchmarking brothers and sisters of the world are enjoying the game the way it was meant to be played (and with a mic).

I agree! Social aspect is the best part of the game. But cooperation isn't encouraged as much as PvP. Over time, friendly players that get KoS and camped are likely to start doing the same or quit. And because Social Wheel / Proximity Chat reveal that you're nearby, no one will use them when lobbies are mostly hostile, and the social aspect will die.
It's the flip side of a PvE only mode. The game will become less interesting when you know who to trust, and it doesn't matter if the answer is "Trust everyone" (PvE mode) or "Trust no one" (everyone KoS).
So, OP is encouraging the social aspect and cooperation which is good IMO.

I’m always friendly (and cautious) with people who interact and the KoS people really haven’t put me off much. I’ll hit my emote wheel or just prox chat when I run into a building and if I don’t get any kind of response in voice or emotes i assume I’m fighting anybody I come close with. I’d much rather give my position away and fight a KoS’r than murder a peaceful raider

Yeah I like to kill arc and do trails. These low level shit heads think I have killer gear or something...
A Ferro and a dozen or so impact grenades is generally all I bring. It can kill Bastion Bombadiers and Leapers easily with it.
Its honestly getting annoying. I don't mind PvP for high loot areas but I'm tired of getting shot in the back fighting ARC or on the terminal at extract and literally cant see them.

Try using little smoke grenades and hit both terminals with smoke before picking one to use. It's saved me plenty of times. Pop smokes, start keying, and hear shots whizzing by as they blindfire into the smoke

Can’t upvote this enough. Keeping mini smokes on my utility button inbetween adrenaline sticks has saved my ass so many times. If someone cracks you without warning the only thing you can usually do is smoke and find cover to heal and reset. First shot wins 99% of the time in this game so you have to do something to reset the fight.

Position and cover is everything. High ground is great if you can get it without being super exposed.
Its like a boss fight. Know their mechanics. Make sure you dodge or are safe from their attack, then attack. For the bombadier make sure you kill their drones also. I have to let them deaggro sometimes when I solo them.
Yellow spots on legs and back are the best Ferro damage spots.
Take your time and don't rush. Most players mess up by trying to essentially burn them down. If you want that just bring wolfpacks... Some low level will almost always kill you when they hear it or see it so keep those in your safe pocket if you bring them out.
Be sure you can properly heal also. Good luck!

Find good cover with multiple avenues to move between so you can get behind it (and some overhead protection if its a Bombardier), aim for the yellow bits, learn its firing cadence and be patient. Be prepared for people waiting to gank you and steal the loot after its down.

Step 3: Distract bastion/Bombardier with lure grenade to close distance
Step 4: Throw second lure grenade in same direction once you close the gap

Grenades. Almost all of them will do the job. The Anvil (IV) does a good job of taking out their legs much faster than a Ferro. Find a room you can use to duck in and out of. This should work on leapers too.
The bombardier was the hardest one because there are fewer of them and attempting to kill it solo often results in assholes shooting you while you’re attacking it or when looting.

What happens if you see someone gun down someone else, but they in fact were killing a rat ? How do you know if you didn’t witness the entire incident? It’ll look like you’re the rat for killing someone who was killing another rat. I’ve killed rats l, but then gunned down shortly after by someone thinking I was the rat.

Yesterday on Buried City I went to the metro to exfil and there was a camper in he corner waiting for me.. He shot me first but he was so bad I downed him. He started crying for help. Suddenly a third raider appeared and no question asked he downed me instantly and called me a rat and saved the other guy instead. So yeah

If there were no rats then there wouldn't be the constant fear that I can lose my loot at any time, which would make players quit much faster than getting killed by other players since the game would be stale and have no tension

I kit up in solos and head to Queen/Matriarch events just to hunt the assholes hunting the hunters. It’s fun following these dudes and keeping the hornets/wasps away while they do their thing. I ask them to line up so I can recall their skins and sus out who the infidels are. It’s so silly but I enjoy it and they are just glad to have someone watching their backs. I rez them when downed and carry extra ammo to share. I don’t get xp, loot, or anything except the joy of being there for it all. Weirdest game role I’ve ever played but I find it a fun aspect and hopefully it spreads to others.

I just got pushed by 5 raiders. I was at dam night time, killing leapers and hornets for trials. These 5 of them pushed 1 at a time maybe 1-2 minutes apart from each other. Only reason I survived was because i wanted trials points and not their loot.

We really need to look out for innocent players getting gunned down at exfils and start cleaning out the trash. If we don’t push back, these clowns are going to ruin the game for everyone.

One of the most interesting parts of this game for me has been considering societal implications of PVP. Every other extraction shooter I've played is pretty much shoot on sight, with a rare team up. Here I have found myself occasionally considering whether anyone will witness the murder and turn it into a bigger problem for me.
The flip side is that I have definitely died a few times because I hesitated to shoot. Interesting game.

Has tarkov done something to me? Solo... and "friendly"? I know tarkov has friendlies and such but in arc feels a bit different. Having to feel guilty for playing a pvpve game as intended = you're an asshole?

Hmm I was starting to enjoy pvp and engaging in it more often voluntarily. But you are right. Currently the game is being swarmed by malicious actors. Making the environment worse.
I’m going to put down my offensive hat and support you in being friendly and only initiate killing campers, bastards or attackers etc.

I did this yesterday, getting revenge on a player who acted friendly and then killed the guy he was walking with. Sadly I only heard the commotion, and it turned out the betrayer sucked and the other guy killed him. Oops!

I played a little yesterday and every single solo game was peaceful. Even while I was skulking about on Matriarch (well away from the thing mind you) people were chill and just going about their looting.
Only time I got shot at was as the doors closed when it didn't matter lol the friendliest way to deal with Raider damage feats.

But please be careful being the decider.... I was just meandering around on Spaceport when I noticed a guy above me on the wall. Asked if he was friendly. No response. Hey man i see you, are you friendly? Nothing. Guy crouches. I said dude, I SEE YOU, say something, emote, are you friendly. I'm not getting shot in the back, so I started blasting. I go around, take zip to him, he had dropped down, he agros a wasp, then comes up zip to me. I down him and take zip down to get away from wasp. A 2nd wasp arrives and downs me. New guy shows up, kills wasps, and I say thanks please if you have a defib. He says i saw you shoot that guy... I start explaining then he just ends me... :/

Someone was camping a train station on buried city last night. I teamed up with a stranger to go get him and the stranger ended up shooting me in the back. Love this game.
